Water Use Permit Applications
Prospective water users submit permit
applications for eventual consideration by the nine-member
Water Board. An important part of this process requires publication of a formal notice of the application in a daily or weekly newspaper
of general circulation once a week for two consecutive weeks. Any interested party has a right to protest the application. Upon receipt of a protest, the Water Board schedules a hearing
on the application at which protestant parties appear to present evidence on the matter. After weighing evidence and testimony submitted at the hearing, the hearing examiner prepares a written order to approve or deny the application.
This order is then scheduled for consideration at a future Board meeting.
Below is the number, notice, and current status of all outstanding OWRB surface and groundwater permit applications.
