Legislative/Special Studies

The OWRB, as well as other state agencies, ocassionally receive directives from the State Legislature to conduct various water resource-related studies and investigations. Two recent legislative studies by the Water Board--the Southeast Oklahoma and Kiamichi River Basin Water Resource Development Plans, conducted between 1999 and 2002--related to investigation of options for repayment of construction costs for Sardis Reservoir owed to the federal government, establishment of regional water supply, and fulfillment of various other economic development objectives in southeast Oklahoma.
