Oklahoma Lakes
Few states have experienced water resources development to the
extent that Oklahoma has. The state has 34 major reservoirs
containing more than 13 million acre-feet of water. In addition,
thousands of smaller lakes serve as valuable sources of
drinking water, irrigation, flood control, recreation, and habitat for fish and wildlife.
This page contains a wealth of information on Oklahoma lakes from a variety
of sources, including the Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation,
and others responsible for their construction and maintenance. Also
included are links to lake water quality information collected through
the OWRB's Beneficial Use Monitoring Program and lake
maps published in the agency's Oklahoma
Water Atlas (2007).
